Pro Bono: XULA MOLE

For our XULA MOLE Pro Bono Project, our Visual Communication and Advocacy class collaborated with Xavier University’s Mobile Outreach for Laboratory Enrichment (MOLE) to design an atomic bond modeling kit for high school science labs in New Orleans. The final deliverables included custom model pieces, a lesson pamphlet, and a branded container. My specific role was designing the lesson pamphlet with my team, where I focused on simplifying complex chemistry concepts through thoughtful typography, color choices, and clear layouts to ensure the material was engaging and easy to follow. This project not only strengthened my design skills but also demonstrated how creativity can be used to give back to the community and support educational initiatives in a meaningful way.

Some Examples of the cards

Before finalizing the design, we explored various formats and chose detachable cards connected by a ring for their versatility and ease of use in the classroom or as study tools. Sized at 3.75x7.5 inches, they offer a compact, flashcard-like design and are laminated for durability and reusable writing with expo markers.
